welcome to a notherworld

a Seattle-based design studio, founded by Michael David Lee.

Notherworld Projects is known as one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading design studios, always aiming to create unique designs for projects of all scales.

Michael, a Seattle native, has a long history in design, beginning in the world of Architecture and working his way toward smaller scales, including interior design and styling. With a BFA in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and an MFA in Interior Design from Parsons at The New School, Michael has over 15 years experience working with AD100 designers, influential artists, and world-class fabricators, with nearly a decade of this experience being in New York City. His interiors have been featured in Architectural Digest, Wallpaper, Surface, and Sight Unseen. Project locations beyond Seattle include New York City, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and more.

Floral Design

NW is available for events, installations, weddings, and more. Our floral design approach is guided by a deep appreciation and respect for the seasons, ephemeral beauty, and the offerings of the earth. Each project is approached with sensitivity to the time of year and a client’s vision. Our goal is to make the best use of produce between the time it is harvested until the time it returns to the earth.

Bespoke arrangements are available for delivery in the Seattle area.

Weekly accounts are available for restaurants, residences, and other businesses.

We offer collaborative styling opportunities for editorials, campaigns, and other photo shoots.

SERVICE

Interior Design

NW offers Interior Architecture and Design services for Residential, Hospitality, and Retail Design. Our approach is guided by a deep appreciation and respect for the artisans, fabricators, builders, and design peers that we collaborate with from day to day. The full-service team includes talented experts with knowledge in art history, architecture, design, project management, custom fabrication, and other disciplines. Our process is lead by an ethos, which allows us to design outside of the boundaries of style. We embrace the future and respect the past, which results in spaces that feel both new and familiar at the same time.
